A steadily increasing number of papers have clearly demonstrated the beneficial effects of both short-term and long-term systematic training with LapSim. The vast majority of these papers are well-designed randomized studies based on sound scientific principles.

The positive effects are measurable in the animal lab as well as in real-life situations in the OR. Moreover, LapSim Basic Skills, LapSim GYN and LapSim Cholecystectomy have all been shown to discriminate between trainees with varying degree of expertise and experience, thus showing that the system is well suited not only for training purposes, but also for examination and certification.
